Large number of domestic and foreign studies have shown that the development of body self-esteem has some relationshipi with the social behavior.In our country,the studies of esteem are mostly concentrated in the primary and secondary school,the studies of pre-school children are less than it.So,we took "Children’s Social Adaptive Behavior Questionnaive" which is adaptated and "Teacher-reported self-esteem questionnaive of children aged3to9"as the tools to research conducted a survey of300children from four kindgartens in urban and rural,the results show that:1, The character of3-6years old pre-school children’s self-esteem development is that the overall level of self-esteem keeps the upward trend with age,4years old is the turning point in the development of young children self-esteem.2, The3-6yeas old pre-school children has a significant gender difference on the level of self-esteem and its three dimensions The boys’level were lower than girls’.3,3-6years old pre-school children that from urban and rural have significant differences on the level of self-esteem, self-importance,self-competence and self-acceptance.Urban children’ level were lower than the rural children’s.4, The overall level of3-6years old pre-school children’Social adaptive behavior keeps the upward trend with age.5,3-6years old pre-school children has a significant gender difference in the level of Social adaptive behavior,self-help,operation,communication,socialization and self-direction. The girls are better than boys in self-help,communication, social and self-direction.6,3-6years old pre-school children that from urban and rural have significant differences on the level of Social adaptive behavior,communication,socialization and self-direction.7, There is a significant positive correlation between the overall level of self-esteem and the development of social adaptive behavior and its six sub-projects;among them,the self-importance level of3-6years old pre-school children’self-esteem has a significant positive correlation with social adaptive behavior,self-help,preration,communication,socialization and self-direction,but it hasn’t relationship with locomotion;the self-competance level of3-6years old pre-school children’self-esteem has a significant positive correlation with social adaptive behavior and its six sub-projects the self-acceptance level of3-6years old pre-school children’self-esteem doesn’t has a relationship with social adaptive behavior,but has a significant positive correlation with socialization.Meanwhile,the level of social adaptive behavior and its six sub-projects are growing as a linear upward trend with the increase of child self-esteem.We suggests that kindergarten teachers and parents should strengthen their own understanding of young children’s inner psychological mechanisms, and improve mental health awareness in the treatment with children, respect and understanding each child, During the process that train the children to show correct behavior, take the correct evaluation methods, use more encourage evaluation, with use less negative evaluation, and active use the process evaluation. Finally, the family and kindergarten should work together to help children develop self-esteem, so it will contributing to the development of social adaptive behavior.
