Adaptive behavior is that individuals independently handle daily life and assume social responsibilities to the extent expected by their age and social culture. The World Health Organization advocates " three-dimensional" health standards, namely physical health, mental health and good social adaptation. The degree of adaptation directly affects one's life development. For autistic children, adaptive behavior has its special meaning and significance.Restoring and improving the adaptive behavior of autistic children and improving their social adaptive ability are the core goals of education, teaching and rehabilitation training for autistic children, and are also the main evaluation criteria.Based on the analysis of relevant literature and in view of the deficiencies of the existing research, this study investigates the adaptive behavior development of autistic children aged 3-6 years old through the self-compiled " Adaptive Behavior Development Questionnaire for Autistic Children".Meanwhile,it explores the internal and external factors that affect the adaptive behavior development of autistic children,so as to better serve the education, teaching and rehabilitation training of autistic children. The self-compiled " Adaptive Behavior Development Questionnaire for Autistic Children" evaluates autistic children's adaptive behavior development level from seven parts: exercise ability,self-care ability, community participation skills, language development level, interpersonal relationship processing, learning ability and bad behavior. After testing, the questionnaire has moderate difficulty coefficient, high discrimination degree, high correlation coefficient, and good reliability and validity. The research investigated 703 autistic children's adaptive behavior development level. The results show that:(1)Autistic children's adaptive behavior development level is low,and the development is unbalanced among all dimensions. The specific manifestations are as follows: the overall development of autistic children's motor ability is better;Able to master simple self-care skills, but unable to master complex self-care skills, and unable to make good use of family, school and social resources, low participation in community life;Lack of safety knowledge, prone to dangerous behavior;Language and the development of interpersonal relationships are the core obstacles, and the defects are obvious.(2)The learning methods and characteristics of autistic children are unique. In addition, there is the ability of isolated island with "fragment skills" as its main expression form, mostly music skills, art skills and extraordinary sensory discrimination skills.(3)Among the bad behaviors, autistic children have the most obvious and serious emotional problems, such as crying, irritability, etc. At the same time, there are some problems such as picky eating, laziness, etc.,which will bring troubles and burdens to teachers and parents' education and upbringing.(4)There are great differences in the adaptive behavior development of autistic children.Even in the same age group, the same degree of impairment and the same IQ level, the development of autistic children is very different, with unique behavioral characteristics and educational needs.(5)Autistic children's age, intelligence level, degree of impairment, and early intervention experience will all affect children's adaptive behavior development.Specifically, autistic children who are older, have better intelligence, have less impairment and have received early intervention will have more advantages in the development of adaptive behavior, while the gender differences of autistic children will not cause significant differences in the development of adaptive behavior.(6)Placement methods and teachers' factors will affect children's adaptive behavior development.Specifically, autistic children placed in ordinary kindergartens,i.e.integrated environments, have better adaptive behavior development. The more professional the teacher's educational background is,the more knowledge and skills he has about autism education, and the greater the promotion effect on children's adaptive behavior development. In view of the above conclusions,we should pay more attention to the adaptive behavior development of autistic children. In the process of education,we should follow the rules and characteristics of learning and development of autistic children and persist in carrying out individualized education for autistic children. At the same time, according to the external factors that affect the development of autistic children's adaptive behavior,we should pay attention to the experience and educational content of early intervention for autistic children, provide opportunities for integrated education for autistic children, and strengthen the management and training of autistic teachers to create a better environment for the education of autistic children.
