Paul Freire was the famous educator in Brazil known as " Latin America’s Dewey" and legendary figure of the Third World. Since the twentieth century," his educational thought not only affected the development of educational theory and practice of the third world countries, but also have a extensive and far-reaching impact to many developed countries on behalf of education, including the United States." This paper mainly discusses the Freire’s idea of civil education,and aims at providing reference of China’s contemporary civic education.Specifically, this paper is divided into six major sections. The introduction part mainly introduces the reason and the significance, the research status,the train of thought,as well as the paper adopts the research method. The first part, I mainly introduce the background of Freire’s ideas of civil education.The second part,I analysis what kind of Freire’s" good citizen".His ideal citizen is the "humanity" of the citizen. He thought that man is the subject and the existence of the world, to be formed on the critical awareness, threw himself into the struggle for liberation, democracy and justice.The third part,I elaborate Freire’s civic education mode that breeding " humanized" citizen through the establishment of’cultural circle".Circles of culture are grounded in four components: problem posing,critical dialogue,problem solving,and action. Most of the fourth, I focus on the requirements for teachers cultivation of humanization" citizenship. First of all, teacher is a fighter who participate in practice.Secondly, teacher dares to teach.Thirdly, teacher is a coordinator.He should build real dialogue relationship with the students,he must change from the "lecture"to two-way communication, from "listening"to"heard",He must combine intellectual discipline and political discipline in the education process.Lastly,teacher must have good quality.In addition, Most of the fifth, we can get the enlightenment to china through the analysis of Freire’s citizen education. First of all, improve teachers’ and culture. Secondly, take the dialogue type teaching method. Once again, create a democratic and harmonious education atmosphere. Finally, protect the right of being educated of students.Today, Freire’s ideas of civil education still have a rich sense of the times in China. Cultivation of qualified citizens, how to cultivate qualified citizens, the significance of teachers in cultivating qualified citizens and so on can be get inspiration in the civic education in the ideas and practice.
