The Research And Enlightenment Of Paulo Freire's Adult Teaching Thought

The famous Brazilian educationist, Paulo Freire, who has the name of legend character. He is the most significant educationalists in the world and that is also the representative of "The Oppressed Pedagogy". Between 1994 and 1995, the international magazine Education View introduced 100 educationists and Freire is one of the four educationists in life.Paulo Freire's thought not only guided the education development of the Latin America countries, but also affected the educational theory and the practice creation of the developed economical states. His teaching views provided enlightenment for the independence and awakening of the oppressed countries, it also directs the reform in our adult teaching with curriculum and instruction. On the basis of Freire's liberation education, the thesis analyzes the thought of the adult teaching in order to get the lesson and experience for our adult teaching.This thesis is divided into four parts:Part one is introduction. Analyze the choosing reason,the theory and the practical meaning of this research. For the first, by the means of collecting and arranging materials about Freire's liberation education home and abroad, the exhaustive commentary was received. Then, it expatiates the purpose,the meaning,the train of thought and the method of the research.Part two is Paulo Freire's life and educational background. This part selected the experience having some major impacts on Friere's ideology of the adult teaching from his childhood, study time and educational practice to recall his early personal history. Then, it presents the background of his educational teaching theory from the whole world, the Latin America and the Brazilian area.Part three is the specific content of Freire's adult teaching thought. It is the key points. This part discussed his teaching views from teaching values,teaching objectives,teaching content,teaching principles,teaching methods,the relation-ship between teacher and student.Part four is the assessment and enlightenment of his adult teaching thought. It is the difficulty point. Assessing Paulo Freire's adult teaching thought, it was appraised for two aspects. One is the characteristics, and another is limitations. On the basis of the evaluation, the enlightenment of adult education theory of curriculum and instruction reform was gained at last. It contents the following things:First, have the new thought of the adult teaching. Second, make the objectives according to the adult developing. Third, improve the adult teaching content. Forth, choose the flexible teaching methods. At last, create the harmonious relationship between teacher and student.
