Sports, the effective measures for students to keep fit and healthy life style afterthey go into the society from schools. The special educational cause and that of the disableare becoming the issues of the government and society increasingly with the developmentof social material and spiritual civilization. Physical education or activities carried out inthe special educational schools are very beneficial to the mind and bodies of the disabledstudents, and provide opportunities or methods for them to find a place to supportthemselves in the society, to represent their capabilities, and to realize their own value. Inorder to intensify the physical education in the special educational school, my study isfocused on the investigation and observation about the conditions of physical education inNantong Special Educational school. This paper is aimed at providing relatedconsultations for the physical education in Specail education of Nantong City or even thoseschools in Jiangsu Province, meanwhile, to provide the foundation for the emphasis onthe special education, especially physical education in special educational schools, andfor support of the disable—the vulnerable groups in our society.This paper is based on subject research theories including pedagogy, school physicaleducation, sociology, logics, psychology, using the methods including those ofdocuments and material, interviewing, field survey, paper investigation, mathematicalstatistics, to make the sample survey from seven special educational schools in Nantong,and parts of school leaders and students as the research subjects. The investigationillustrates that: Contents of physical education are reasonably managed, but rehabilitationprojects are in a lacking condition;Students are interested in sports,and are active to dothe exercises during two break-time, but they are lack of knowledge of the task orobjective of sports lessons; Students have good reports of spare–time sports traininglessons;Physical education majored teachers are of reasonable age or educational level,and enjoy themselves the higher education or training, are capable of doing academic research, but the professional special education majored sport teachers or high-gradeteachers are in short; what`s more, male and female teachers aren`t in a good proportionalpopulation;There isn`t a systemic evaluating criterion for the sports lessons; High-degreeprevailing teaching materials special to this age and teaching syllabus are in demand;Physical education budget or sports field, instruments can suffice the teaching and trainingdemands, but indoor gymnasiums are in great need.In order to resolve these problems above, this paper is to propose correspondingmeasures and suggestion: government needs to intensify their duty, a satisfying physicaleducation situation of special educational schools needs to be built up, and the schoolsleaders are supposed to strengthen regulatory and supervisory efforts on physical educationof special educational schools; physical education reforming should be sped up, criterionof lessons on sports and health needs to be carried out; concept on physical education issupposed to be updated, and be more conscious of strengthening training of the disabledstudents; teaching syllabus of physical education and teaching materials suitable to specialstudents are in demand; teaching forms and contents of physical education need to bemore abundant, and sports projects to build up bodies, for entertainment or rehabilitationare in need to be made; to transfer the methods of the present sports projects in order tomeet the demand of special physical education; to build up multi-valuation system withmore items or more evaluation indicator;to intensify the medium-term or long-termtraining of the sports teachers in-service; to reform the education in Normal university,expanding the faculty training channels, intensifying teachers`normal construction, tomake the physical education teams perfect; to decrease athletic sports projects, have moresports activities; to launch spare sports activities or sports contests together with schoolsproviding regular education, to enhance the communication between special students andsocieties; to increase sports budget, and improve instruments in sports fields, developingthe construction of indoors gymnasium for sports activities.
