With the development of computer technology, printing technology,replication technology and video, audio, books and other mass media , allof them show us a more colorful and interactive world. llustration iswidely applied to various fields of society, such as commodityadvertisement, packaging design, webpage design, greeting card and so on.So some people assert that twenty-first Century is the era of interpretingthe images. Along with the arrival of the times of interpreting the image,it also brought great development for our primary school Chinese textbooksand provided basis and conditions for primary school drawing, design,layout and printing.After liberation, the textbook illustration of Our primary schoolevolved from less and coarse to more and fine. Through visiting survey,most of the students and teachers like using the illustrations in presenttextbooks. This study compared 1993 edition and the 2001’s Chinesetextbooks which are published by people’s education press. On the basisof comparison and analysis , we can summarize illustrations that primaryschool textbooks should follow some principles and provide a meaningfulreference for the further development and improvement of the Chineseteaching materials.The paper consists of four parts:The first part: introduction. This part is mainly concerned with thesubject of the background, the related domestic and foreign researchhistory and status ;quo are outlined;and the research mentality and themethod, and the subject involving the study made to define for follow-upstudies provide evidence.The second part: two edition teaching material comparison. The partfrom the illustrated volume, illustrations and text content of the fusiondegree, illustration, illustration and text content arrangement, style illustration illustrations, poems on several aspects such as the1993edition and 2001 edition of person teaching edition primary schoolChinese textbook illustrations were compared, and the two edition of thetextbook illustration of why different theoretical analysis.The third part: two versions of textbooks of comparative resultanalysis. Through the comparative analysis, illustration drawing shouldfollow some basic principles: illustrations must conform to student’s ageand the psychological characteristic; illustrations to suit the textcontent; illustrations should fully reflect the times; illustrationlayout should be graphic page; illustrations to the integration of Chineseand Western painting style. Summed up the unique function,through theanalysis of primary school Chinese textbook illustration.Part fourth: primary school Chinese textbook illustration drawing andteaching suggestion. The part from the relevant departments, designer,teacher illustrations in three aspects , put forward some suggestions.Hope that this study on primary school can provide some help to the ofthe development of Chinese textbook illustration,reform and teachers’teaching.
