The Study On The Narrative Features Of American Horse Racing Movies

China's horse race event environment has gradually matured.As a window of horse racing culture,sports film is the most realistic,gorgeous and rich media that expresses "horse racing".It provides a large screen to explore and present the opportunities of actions,plays and roles in the world of horse racing.It also spreads the connotation and spirit of horse racing.So the horse racing theme sports film is an effective way to deep understanding horse racing and its culture.Meanwhile,the horse racing theme sports film plays an important role in disseminating horse culture and promoting the development of horse racing.This paper chooses 17 American racing movies as the research object,analyzes the film from the perspective of film narratology,selects the narrator,narrative plot,narrative time and narrative space as the basic indexes.On the basis of analyzing these indexes,the paper further summarizes the narrative theme of the American horse racing movie,which concludes the narrative characteristics of the American horse racing movie.The study found that in the narrative side,women in the American horse racing film has occupied a more crucial position;children also play an important role in the film,and the "mentor" is set to interact with them.At the same time,the film set up an interactive and contradicted relationship among the rider,horse owner and trainer,as well as the relationship between people and horses,which both promote the film narrative.In the aspect of narrative plot,the films,in order and causal linear narrative way,tell inspirational stories about that a loser finally succeed by struggling.In the aspect of Narrative time,during the process of the training and competition,the full use of the concentration and expansion of time describes the beauty of horse racing,shaping the film relaxation degree of rhythm;When it comes to the narrative space,in order to fit the characteristics of horse racing,the films select the open,ambitious space.Space structure and color between two spaces also carry the narrative rhetoric function.In the narrative theme construction side,the American horse racing movies have superficial themes and deep themes and horses in the films have symbolic meanings for the films to add depth.Therefore,through the above narrative characteristics,the American horse racing films reproduce,sublimate the horse racing and its culture,which can provide a reference experience for the creation of Chinese horse racing movie and even sports film.
