A Study On High School Students’ After-school Physical Training Incentive Mechanism In Weinan City,Shan’ Xi Province

Though the after-school physical training at high schools inWeinan City, Shan’xi province has achieved great development in thepast decade, there are still large gaps compared with the coastalareas and other developed areas. Therefore,how to further enhancemost students’training motivation, dig out their physical potentialand there by improve physical training afterschool has become anurgent requirement that every school further optimize the internalmanagement of physical training after school at present.The sound after-school physical training incentive mechanism canstimulate the students’training motivation, dig out their physicalpotential, improve the efficiency of after-school physical training, andthen establish a set of scientific test and evaluation criteria. Throughquestionnaire and literature review, this study makes a survey ofsome training students and couches at13 high schools in Weinan City,Shan’xi province and analyzes as well as summarizes relativeliterature of the incentive theory respectively. The result of studyshows that first of all, the high schools in Weinan City have a relativelyabundant source of students and a relatively reasonable professional title structure of physical education teachers, but there still existsuch problems as the smaller number of training students, the lack ofsystematic training, the shortage of fund, the lack of equipment andfacilities, the educational background structure of coaches being notvery reasonable, students being not very interested in training andetc.. Secondly, from the five dimensions of the importance ofincentive, encouragement and reward, the satisfaction of the trainingteam, the training evaluation, the admission and transportation ofathletes in the after-school physical training, this study finds out thatthere are such problems as the insufficient attention to students’needs, the backward concepts of the incentive management, theincentive management system needing to be improved, theuncoordinated relationship between material incentives and spiritualencouragement, the inadequate support from government in highschool students’after-school physical training incentive mechanismin Weinan City. Thirdly, this study puts forward several principles toimprove the incentive mechanism and an overall vision to carry outthe incentive mechanism, which is to gradually perfect such incentiveprinciples as being people-oriented, seeking truth from facts, thecoordination and equal importance of material and spirit, being fairand just, and synchronization between positive and negativeincentives. And it is aimed to progressively establish an incentivemodel by setting goals–making efforts–implementingincentives–realizing goals–implementing further incentives-makingfurther efforts step by step, and then to forma sound developmentcycle for the after-school physical training. Finally, this studyproposes a tentative plan to perfect incentive measures and to implement safeguard measures in carrying out incentive mechanism.It includes perfection of material incentive measures such asincentives of training allowance and subsidy, incentives inprovidingtraining uniform, incentives of fee remission, incentives in improvingthe training environment and etc., perfection of spiritual incentivemeasures like incentives in giving credit, incentives in setting goals,incentives in setting up a typical example, incentives in participating,the emotional incentives and etc., and perfection of safeguardmeasures such as giving important play to the support of leadership,providing effective organization assurance, improving the evaluationsystem, regulating the system of admission and transportation,strengthening the system of reward and etc.. In this study, we havedrawn the following conclusion and have made the followingsuggestion that it’s necessary to introduce the new concept ofmodern human resource management for the perfection of the highschool students’after-school physical training incentive mechanismin Weinan City. Meanwhile, with the spiritual encouragement beingthe main principle including being people-oriented, being fair and just,combination of rewards and punishment, and material incentivesbeing the supplement, we still need to enforce the incentives inpractice, give full consideration to the students’reasonable needs ofsustainable development, effectively mobilize the students’ trainingmotivation by comprehensively using a variety of incentive measuresand steadily improve the performance of after-school physicaltraining. However, due to the limitation of the writer’s ability andknowledge, there are still many shortcomings in this study, such asa lack of specifics and targets in some incentives. And it is still difficult to fully carry out the quantitative analysis in research anddemonstration, which still needs to make further study.
