In China, Cooperative Learning has become one of the most important teaching approaches in EFL with the reform of New Curriculum. Obviously, it improves self-esteem, a safe learning environment, and better classroom success rates and products. However, the phenomenon of "Hitch-hiking" still exists. As an essential element of cooperative learning, students’perspectives on Cooperative Learning definitely affect its implementation. This qualitative study investigated what Cooperative Learning in Chinese senior high school students’ eyes was from cognitive and emotional aspects. Informants who were all senior two students were interviewed after classes and chosen according to their performance in Cooperative Learning. A questionnaire frequently with the self-assessment forms is also included to support the investigation. Results showed that on one hand, under the environment where teachers and parents paid certain attention to the cooperative learning, students themselves welcomed cooperative learning and know the general skeleton of Cooperative Learning. Most of students could prepare for it in advance and had intense responsibility for their group;they could get along well with classmates and teachers, and thus they shared opinions and idea with each other and felt happy and relaxing. On the other hand, different students reacted differently towards Cooperative Learning. The knowledge they knew about itwas one-sided and limited especially the functions and skills of Cooperative Learning, which resulted in low motivation for Cooperative Learning. At the same time, lack of communicative and cooperative skills led to the chaos and "hitch-hiking".In sum, students have got some ideas of Cooperative Learning, if not completely. This kind of belief has numerous influences on the carry-out of Cooperative Learning and leads to the low-efficiency issue.
