Career barriers indicate all of negative factors which impede a career development. It hassignificant theoretical and practical values for preschool teacher’s career development by studythe characteristics and influencing factors of career impediment of preschool teacher.Based on theoretical study of existing literature and through observation and interviews,initial questionnaires of "Preschool Teacher’s Career Barriers Questionnaire" and " PreschoolTeacher’s Career Barriers Influencing Factors Questionnaire" are worked out, which are used forsurvey of preschool teachers in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. Career barriers structure ofpreschool teacher thus is mainly generated through exploratory factor analytical method andformal questionnaires are formed. By verifying the career barriers structure of preschool teacherand studying the reliability and validity of those questionnaires, characteristics of career barriersof preschool teacher are discussed by means of multivariate variance analysis method etc. whileinfluencing factors of career barriers of preschool teacher are studied via reference analysis,multiple stepwise regression analysis and path analysis methods etc. The results show that:1. Career barriers of preschool teacher mainly includes growth needs impediment, obstructionof promotion, professional identity impediment, work emotional exhaustion, workadjustment impediment etc; the "Preschool Teacher’s Career Barriers Questionnaire"compiled by the research institution has good reliability and validity.2. The nature of preschool where the preschool teachers belong has a significant impact to theteachers’career barriers, where university-affiliated kindergartens obviously differ from otherfour types in five dimensions of the career hindrance.3. There are five main factors impacting the career barriers of preschool teachers: professionalability, personality, human relations background, work environment and job attitude, wherethe biggest factor is work environment, professional ability directly and negatively affect thepromotion impediment, and personality have prominent influences to growth needsimpediment and obstruction of promotion. Furthermore, personality, human relationsbackground and work environment indirectly affect the career hindrance of preschool teacherthrough job attitude.
