Modern Chinese Christian University Vocational Education Research

Christian University was a specialized education that appeared on modern Chinese history. So tospeak, the development of Christian University Vocational Education was integrated with thechange of the modern Chinese history. When the preacher found the way of direct sermons didn’twork，they began to change their missionary strategy and seek a new route of transmission, that wasthey preach by the way of indirect sermon. In this situation, in order to educate person with aChristian spirit and master western science culture to lead and rule China, Christian Universityeducation gradually developed in China. Christian university developing vocational education,adapted to the situation of China, and satisfied the special talented person’s demand, to some extent,became unconscious tool to promote Chinese social development.Christian University was a product of the modern cultural change, it played some degree ofdemonstration and guidance in the process of modernization of China’s education, which was atrajectory of the development of Chinese modern education modernization. In this thesis, thefollowing aspects of the Christian University Vocational Education were studied:The first chapter describes Christianity went in Modern China and the process of the rise ofChristian University. When the preacher found the way of direct sermons didn’t work，they began tochange their missionary strategy and seek a new route of education. With the establishment of theChristian primary and secondary schools, Christian higher education gradually raise. To the20thcentury, Christian University entered a period of great development, and gradually built up.The second chapter focuses on the historical background of the rise of Christian UniversityVocational Education. This article focuses on four historical background, That is the rise of theChinese localization, the impact of nationalism, the influence of China’s own Educational Thoughtand the changes of the Christian educational philosophy. Four factors were intertwined, and mutualdevelopment, which promote vocational education of the Christian University to achieve aqualitative breakthrough.The third chapter discusses the course of the development of Christian University VocationalEducation. Three periods were divided, that is development of rise and initial period、sophisticatedperiodand period of adjustment. Various periods of had various history characteristics, Thedevelopment of the previous period to lay the foundation for the development of the next period.Based on the development of the previous period, the Christian University opened differentvocational courses. In this article several typical vocational education of the typical university werediscussed, which could clarify the historical characteristics of this stage. In the fourth chapter College of Agriculture of Jinling University were chosen as an example tointroduce the development of the Christian University Vocational Education. In this chapter theCollege of Agriculture of Jinling University were discussed from three aspects, that is, Thedevelopment process of the Vocational Education of the Jinling University、school characteristicsand the historical status. College of Agriculture of Jinling University was the pioneer of agricultureand forest education, and had the meaning and status of milestone.In the fifth chapter the comment of the Christian University Vocational Education werediscussed from the aspects of school characteristics, personnel training, the community contribution.Christian University Vocational Education had three school characteristics: Chinese and Westerncultural、inclusive、combination of theory and practice and Christian color from strong to weak.
