Curriculum reform is the core of the education reform. Since the1980s, countries around the world carry out their reform objectives in accordance with their actual situation. Our country made the new geography curriculum reform in2001, it has already been carried out more than ten years, and made remarkable achievements. In England, the1988Education Reform Act stand for the start of the curriculum reform, in1991promulgated the "National Geographic Programs", made the English public school geography education objectives, requirements, and teaching content more clear. Due to differences in national conditions, etc, Sino-British show different features in geography curriculum reform process. Accordingly, based on the geography curriculum standards, analyzing the two countries’ geography curriculum reform process systematically, focusing on curriculum offering, targets, content to recognize the two countries geography curriculum reform and the similarities and differences, and provide for the continuing development of education of china’s geographic experience.The study has shown that:the Sino-British curriculum not only has commons but also has differences in curriculum offering, targets and content. The commons are:In curriculum offering, both emphasized the important role of geography in basic education, are fully taken into account the geography curriculum of china and England different needs; and meet different student’s learning differences, in the curriculum targets, the two countries attach great importance to the cultivation of geographical skills, emphasizing the application of geographic information technologies, in the curriculum content, also, the two countries are in accordance with the development of the mental and physical characteristics and ability development to arrange the content.However, due to the difference between the two countries in history, education tradition and economic level, there are differences between these two countries in geography curriculum, for example, in the curriculum targets, the dimension of the curriculum targets of the two countries are different, our countries is based on "knowledge and skills","process and methods","attitude and values" as the standard, British geography curriculum regard "geographic skills","geographic area of knowledge and understanding","natural geography","humanity geography","environmental geography" as the geography curriculum targets. In the curriculum offering, the content of the presentation order is not the same, we study from world-to place, in descending order, while the English start from local to the world.Finally, according to the comparative study of Sino-British curriculum reform, we should learn from Britain, respect for the personality development of students, firmly establish and adhere to the "people-oriented" geography education and geography curriculum reform ideas.
