In academia, colleges and universities hire graduates as teaching and research assistants. However, the way they are inducted into the system and mentored in the process, above all, the clarity of their job description and promotion opportunities have always been pressing issues for Graduate Assistants (GAs). One-Way ANOVA, and Post Hoc Test analysis techniques were used to analyze data collected through a Likert scale questionnaire; interview questions are categorically summarized. Results revealed that GAs shoulder vital responsibilities but they receive poor induction, mentoring and promotion opportunities in all colleges. This thesis revealed the main reasons and more.
