Under the influence of the economic globalization and rapid spread of information, the education reforms had been carried out in many countries and areas at the latter halfof the1980s, with the purpose of adapting to the impact of the economic developmentand the social change in education. Curriculum reform is an important part of educationreform, while the adjustment and integration in the curriculum is the most importantmeasure. The eighth curriculum reform had begun after the promulgation of CurriculumReform of Basic Education. The most significant change is to implement History andSociety and Science in the38experimental areas. However, the case of Wuhan showsthe implementation of curriculum reform had not been easy. With the development ofthe curriculum reform, the experimental areas have expanded from Wuchang District tothe whole city. All of the middle schools set up History and Society and Science. Thefact is that after the graduation of the junior middle school students in June2011,History and Society and Science changed into subject-separate curriculum again. It isthe same case with Shenzhen. Shenzhen’s experimental areas are expanded fromNanshan District to the whole city. The subject-separate curriculum has been come intodiscussion in Shenzhen middle school in2011. The integrated curriculum is useful forexpanding students’ thinking space, mobilizing the enthusiasm of the students andachieving long-term development of education. But we have to ask why. Why is sodifficult to set up the integrated curriculum? As a History and Society teacher in LuohuDistrict, I want to study the shortage and improvements of History and Society teaching with the help of the existing teaching resource. I hope my study will more or less makea difference to the basic education curriculum reform.
