The new curriculum reform not only challenges the traditional history teaching basic skills, but also provides opportunities for high school teachers to re-examine their own skills.Under the background of the new curriculum reform, there are some changes in basic teaching method which includes fundamental basic skills and professional basic skills. As representatives of the fundamental basic skills,"Three writings and Mandarin" have constant enrichment of connotations as well as moderner and moderner forms. The systems of fundamental basic skills and professional basic skills is increasingly perfected with the improvement of the new curriculum reform. As the new curriculum reform has become a trend, society should give enough attention and support to basic teaching skills. At the same time, normal schools should also seize the opportunity to reform. Besides, schools of elementary education should optimize their management to build favorable growing environment for teachers. In addition, middle school teachers also need grasp the chance to enhance their own basic skills in the round.This paper is divided into three chapters to discuss the basic teaching skills of new history teachers. The transition from traditional teaching skills in history to teaching skills under the new curriculum reform is regarded as the core of Chapter One. In this chapter, the writer will discuss the basic skills that history teachers should have. Chapter Two mainly state the development of history teachers’ basic teaching skills under the new curriculum reform. And it also analyzes basic teaching skills change and develop at the stages as normal school students, practice teachers and formal teachers. From external factor and internal factor-two dimensions affecting the basic skills of middle school teachers, Chapter Three mainly induces the factors impacting the basic teaching skills such as social system, education system, educational belief of teachers, occupation motives and the need for self development. Chapter Four puts forward countermeasures from four angles:social system, teaching system, school system and individual level.Basic teaching skills in history are the survival skills and important embodiment of specialty dor history teachers. Below the premise that history teachers strengthen basic teaching skills, they dare to accept the challenge from the new curriculum reform in history. Besides, they also need to change their roles; they also need to improve their basic teaching skills in practice by taking full advantage of all teaching material.
