This research at first do a systematic review of all the literature about teachers’autonomous development, second, preparation of the questionnaire about high schoolteachers’ autonomous development, the questionnaire relating to high school teachers basicsituation, high school teachers’ consciousness of autonomous development, high schoolteachers’ autonomous development motivation, high school teachers’ autonomousdevelopment ability, high school teachers’ autonomous development strategy and so on.Through the survey and interviews we have found that, despite the high school teachers havethe consciousness of autonomous development and put into practice, but in implementationstill has many deficiencies, mainly in the following points: lack of career aspirations,reflection lack of continuity, scientific research ability is weak, human relation is thin,administrative restraint, teacher training goals are not clear.To promote high school teachers’ autonomous development, need to give somecountermeasures. To promote high school teachers’ autonomous development, on one hand,from the teacher’s individual level, need to establish career aspirations, enhance theprofessional identity, strengthen learning consciousness, change the concept of teaching;improve autonomous study ability, promote professional development; on the other hand,from the organizational level, we need to strength the culture construction, create a goodatmosphere; give teachers more care, listen to the voice of the teachers; take administrativesupport, perfect evaluation and incentive method; improve teacher training, promote highschool teacher’s autonomous development.
