Colleges and universities as the main places for the work of science popularization, it is feasible for them to bring popularization of science into full play by developing resource of science popularization independently. Ordinary laboratories in colleges and universities have both characteristics of scientific research and teaching, thus they have the function of transforming science and technology into science popularization resources, which is the starting point of college and university science popularization resources development.Previous laboratory science resources can be classified into two categories. First, most popular science resources are evolved based on teachers’years of teaching experience. To some extent, these science resources do make use of laboratory resources, but in an unsystematic way. Therefore, this method is not supposed to be spread. Second way is direct purchase of related equipment to conduct the work of scientific popularization. This kind of resources is relatively mature, but they have not been developed for many years and out of date and innovation. Besides, laboratories are in the status of warehouse management, simple service and extensive experiment, which leads to the low efficiency in applying laboratory science resources in the work of scientific popularization.Taking the development of science resource in physics demonstration laboratory for example, the method of literature review is used to elaborate that laboratory science resource is an entry point and starting point for college science work through literature review. Moreover, the current situation of college and university laboratory has been summarized in the paper. Based on project research, main forms and, and contents of college and university laboratory science resource are generalized, and resources of science popularization in demonstration laboratories are classified. Focusing on senior high school students, the developing trend of laboratory science resources for senior high school students is put forward by using questionnaires to investigate students’needs. With the case of glow plate and glow ball experiment as cases, the author exploits series of paradigms of science popularization resources. Accordingly, the thought and methods of developing resource of laboratory science popularization are summarized and analyzed. As a result, basic principles and general procedures of college and university science popularization resources development are concluded, which are significance to development of college and university laboratory science popularization resource.
