With the Basic education reform process,there is a growing concern about teacher professional development, and the teacher professional development is also the driving force for all the education reforms.Although it has made some progress to promote teacher professional development in China,there are still many places to be worth improving.lt is clearly that the rural teachers account for a large proportion of teachers in primary and secondary schools. Meanwhile, the rural teacher’s professional development issue is very outstanding.Therefore, nowadays how to improve the quality of rural teachers has become the heated subject.The dissertation consists of three parts.Part one is the preface,which mainly includes the background of this study,the significance of the study, the literature review, the definitions of concerned concepts,and so on.The second part is the main body of this dissertation,which divided into four chapters.Chapter one is the Literature Review.This chapter is the design and implementation of the research.It mainly introduces the research objectives, content, ideas and methods, giving a detailed introduction of the preparation of the survey questionnaire.This part has analysed the data from questionnaire survey with the statistics software SPSS.Then,based on the the Research report. and fiterature.The author summarized and made an analytical study of primary and secondary school teachers’ professional development in Rural Areas. First of all, it has described the survey of shandong province rural teachers professional development situation.Then the analyse mainly about three aspects:the higher education experience of rural primary and secondary school teachers, rural primary and secondary school teacher’s professional development situation, and the impact of Higher education experience of rural teachers for their professional development.In view of the issues identified above,the Third part analyzed and discussed the needs of teacher professional development.In addition,this paper also provides some suggestions to promote teachers professional development and to offer some basis for promote the teachers’ education.
