Along with the reform and opening-up of our country changes a course accelerate, a large number of rural surplus labor force shift, leading to the emergence of a large number of remained elderly in rural areas. Rural left-behind elderly because their children are not around a long time, their economic support, life care and spiritual solace there are a lot of problems. At present, China’s rural old-age security system is not perfect and rural elderly pension problem does not allow hopeful, so this kind of special group should be paid more attention by the society.This article from the perspective of social work to study the rural elderly pension problem, and select eight remained elderly A at YuLin City in Shanxi province for in-depth interview. The conclude that the left-behind elderly’s pension situation is that their main economic income level is general low and mostly rely on the old their own labor income and their health is poor and lack of the spirit of life care. According to these problems, the author proposed the introduction of rural social work professionals, with professional social work method to guide the application of social work and professional skills to solve the rural elderly pension problem. The research object of select typical cases, using social work’s three method to carry on the analysis, proposed the involvement of social work in rural elderly pension proposals:the first one is the government guidance, establish and improve the social service system; the second one is to accelerate the social work specialization, occupation and localization; the third one is to strengthen publicity and education, improve social work social recognition, with a view to the intervention of social work in rural elderly pension field help.
