This topic is about the theory and practice of systematicconstruction of General Biology curriculum in Shanghai NormalUniversity’s Science Education courses, aimed at building a classicGeneral Biology course that can improve the literacy of undergraduatelife sciences, reflect the characteristics of Shanghai Normal University,and be in line with the needs of students. Looking through some briefintroduction about the construction of life science courses in ourcountry, there are some representative insufficiencies in curriculumconstruction, such as the lack of systematic study, no clear targetsystem, and lack of basis in selecting the course content. Anyway, aGeneral Biology course that can embody the professionalcharacteristics of the Science Education program is even moreuncommon.Following this context above, based on the existing General Biologycourses in Shanghai Normal University, this paper starts from the overallperspective of the General Biology course construction, puts particularemphasis on the theoretical level study in the basic course curriculumconstruction of biology in higher school, in order to promote a newround of educational reform as the guiding ideology, to fully developstudents’ scientific literacy as a fundamental purpose and so on. On thebase of some surveys and interviews and according to related analysis,strategic choices of the professional courses that can present thecountry features were discussed.From the aim above, this article first uses literature analysis andsummary to analyze the status of the biological curriculum building onthis research at home and abroad as well as some courseconstruction-related curriculum concepts and modern theory, themeaning and status of the construction of this course in the professional development of science education, the basic problems of courseconstruction, trends and post-modern perspective on curriculum, inorder to provide a theoretical basis and policy basis for finishing thestudy; Then, uses online questionnaire survey and interviews toinvestigate present situation of biology curriculum construction,learnmore about it in other colleges and universities of this course, alsoundertake a survey of analysis and research and reform-related issuesas to the current construction status and the construction of webresources, summed up the current course construction issues in order tobetter promote the implementation of the General Biology curriculum;then, by means of summing-up and comparative way, the constructionpractice and exploration are analyzed. A detailed analysis of thecourse content, teaching methods, the implementation of the reformsof the three-dimensional materials, as well as reform of the curriculumevaluation methods is preferred. Finally, we use case analysis tosummarize, collected a typical case of institutions of higher learningGeneral Biology course construction, to explore the characteristics, andpromote the innovative building of teaching network resources library,including the design of the site’s content, updated sound and theestablishment and improvement of the interactive system.Based on the actual findings and analysis, theoretical analysis of acomprehensive General Biology course construction, it is worthy toselect the following strategy and recommendations: to improveteachers’ teaching philosophy, and enhance teachers’ awareness ofcurriculum; to strengthen teacher-student interaction and build apractical teaching environment, give full play to the dominant positionof the students; revise syllabus, demonstration materials, to ensure focus;give great importance to teaching and research, strengthen theconstruction of series of courses; build a General Biology e-dictionary,verify classroom problems, and improve teaching efficiency. Strive to lead the course construction to the advanced ideas of education,organic combination of form and content, and actively explore thereform of teaching methods and assessment methods to achieve thesharing of curriculum resources. The process of Course buildingembodies the interactive alternating of the theory and practice, ideasof collaborative promotion, so the author hopes the study can lay agood start, set a foundation to systematic construction of GeneralBiology Course in Science Education, Shanghai Normal University, andcontinuously improve the curriculum reform.
