In the new century, it is indispensable to strengthen disciplineintegration for the secondary school education. As is known to us all,the history teaching is a highly comprehensive curriculum, which has allkinds of connections with other social sciences, e.g., politics andgeography. During the process of teaching and research, historyteachers should strive to build the relationship between the discipline ofhistory and politics, geography knowledge, and applied relatedcontent to the history teaching to achieve the history objects of middleschool. In Mar.2009, our research group of Dongsheng Middle Schoolfor history, politics and geography, applied to Yangpu EducationBureau for a project entitled “The study on the discipline integration ofhistory, politics and geography during the history teaching of ShanghaiDongsheng Middle School”. Then, the project was supported byYangpu Education Bureau in Sep.2009.Using many research methods, eg., literature, analysis andobservation methods, this research discusses and studies the capacityon the discipline integration of history, politics and geography duringthe history teaching in junior high school. During the history teachingintegrated with politics and geography, students interest in learninghistory can be stimulated. Moreover, it is helpful to help students toeasily master the history content with other knowledge, to improve theability of recognizing, analyzing and solving the problem, and to formthe scientific way of thinking and outlook.The current paper is organized as follows.The first part is introduction. It mainly elaborates the determinationand background of our project. Based on the others’ studies, we try tofind a new research perspective. Therefore, the project is innovative tosome extent. The second part is the theoretical study. Combined with the newcurriculum concept, this research analyzes the necessity of integratingthe history teaching with politics, geography subject. Combined withthe correlation theories of the history education, psychology andeducational psychology, this research analyzes the feasibility ofintegrating the history teaching with politics, geography subject.The third part refers to case study. According to the curriculumstandards, we firstly explore the connotation of the discipline integration,and then apply the research findings to the junior school students ofGrade1and2. Finally, through the questionnaire, we check the effectof discipline integration.The fourth part is the reflection part. Based on the problems found inthe third part, we analyze the reasons and put forward solutions.
