University freshmen come into campus, in the face of the new environment and changes, and the most important question is how to adapt to the university life, to make successful completion of relevant role transformation. University Freshmen’s adaptability education immediately affects the students’ healthy growth and development, not only the College Ideological and political education workers must think about becoming it, but also a hot academic research of ideological and political education of college students it has become. University Freshmen have some adaptability problems in interpersonal communication, study life and other aspects resulting in the students’ more and more complex behavior and psychological problems, but the traditional ideological and political education ideas and methods has the certain lag, no solving the emergence of new situations and problems in time, meanwhile, the social work profession in the concept of value ethical principles, methods and strategies, is different from the ideological and political work, psychological counseling and general community work, and it has certain similarities, and greatly makes up the malady of the current ideological and political education of university students, so intervention of social work in university freshmen’s adaptability problems have some special advantages.In the study, the university freshmen of some class in2011grade to Huazhong Agricultural University’s X college are been as the object of the project implementation, and the researcher make adaptability analysis and implement needs assessment; Researcher use social work theories and methods to intervene university freshmen’s adaptive problems, and through the implementation of project to intervene, to solve the existing class freshmen’s adaptability problems; make comprehensive use of participatory observation, non structured interview, group activities and other research methods of investigation and practice, to get the combination of theory and practice, through the service of specific projects, to intervene from three aspects for the school, class and individual involved; through project design, implementation, through the evaluation and summary, explore the service mode for social work’s intervening that adaptive problems of university freshmen, involving the strengths perspective, hierarchy of needs theory into the service concept, trying to construct a nested structure service mode that "need for one in center, the linkage of inside and outside","three aspects’ conformity, multi-party cooperation". This paper through the service mode analysis for Social work’s intervening group subject, is to seek complementary advantages between social work and ideological and political education of university students, to promote the localized research of social work, to further expand its theoretical connotation and extension, to achieve the communion of exchange, to make their comprehensive healthy development.
