With the increasing economic globalization, the progress of technological innovation and international competition, the Party Central Committee and the State Council made a major strategic decision to strengthen the establishment persist in independent innovation and building an innovative country. Colleges and universities must full update their concepts, the students’ability to innovateas the core of educational reform. Cultivation of innovation ability of engineering students of colleges and universities, not only to the first classroom-based, deepening teaching reform, give full play to the main channel of the classroom teaching, technology innovation and education throughout thewhole process of personnel training. But also give full play to the important channel of the second class of College Innovation capability Innovation capability Education,to connect with and extension of the first class content, through innovative educational activities, classroom activities, extracurricular scientific activities, academic competitions, and school-enterprise cooperation, training systemengineering students’ability to innovate.In this paper, the Marxist concept of practice as the theoretical basis. Through the analysis of engineering students’ innovative ability, to clarify the relationship between second class activities and training of engineering students’ innovative ability, search for the second classroom building culture aspects of the main problems inengineering students’ innovative ability, and finally explore the platform of the second class activities students practical and creative abilities.
