Research On The Present Situation And Countermeasure For Inheritance And Development Of Xiangxi Maogusi

Xiangxi Tujia-Miao Autonomous Prefecture (hereinafter referred to as the Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture) is a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural meeting point, where traditional ethic sports saved relatively complete. Maogusi is national intangible cultural heritage, the important basis for Tujia nationality becoming singular, as well as the essence of Tujia’ s culture. Under the impact of the modern way of life, it will encounter the danger of extinction without protecting and developing. In this study, it researched the present development situation and heritage countermeasure of Maogusi in Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture’s by document-data method, field observation, questionnaire survey, expert interviews and so on,and draw the conclusions as follows:(1) Mao Gusi is the world intangible cultural heritage, Xiangxi autonomous prefecture government departments at all levels to Mao Gusi’s inheritance and development takes seriously highly, make relevant policy. Especially in the tissue Mao Gusi to participate in a large-scale performances, let Mao Gusi out of Xiangxi into the international arena, made very large contribution.(2) The crowds that take part in Maogusi sport are mainly elderly retirees and the male, nationality mainly based on Tujia, Miao Ethnic Minorities whose cultural level is generally low.(3) National habits, entertainment and needs in the group are the main motives that they take part in this sport activity. Maogusi’s participation in the group tends to unified organization, clan gatherings and association activities.(4) Under the influence of its organizers’management level, competition level that Maogusi participants take part in is relatively low. Maogusi participants rarely participate in Maogusi competition every year and they show low satisfaction to the contest performance activities. Moreover, they have few opportunities to accept the standardized education and training activities.(5) Currently, the major difficulties for people to attend Maogusi is imitation of Maogusi’s character and learning Tujia local language.(6) Inadequate Activity funds, the lack of publicity, little exchange are Maogusi’s the obvious gender identity. Low perception of Maogusi sport is the main factor to affect the popularization and promotion of Maogusi sport.(7) The requests and hopes of carrying out Maogusi focus on the following four aspects:to increase Maogusi activities funds, to build a large number of sports venues, to increase investment in physical education facilities, and to improve Maogusi fitness awareness.Hereby suggest that the local government increases financial support to Maogusi, strengthening the local national culture education, expanding on Maogusi’ s propaganda. Taking advantage of advanced electronic information network, advanced media technology, field performance, written travel album and other publicity methods, to show the charm of Maogusi to the people all over the world.
