| We all know that "A long-range development plan should be education oriented. An education plan should be teacher-centered." At the beginning of the21st century, with the increasingly fierce social competition in all kinds of fields, the demands for talents of high-quality and innovation are high. How to survive in this society full of fierce competitions is a priority among the tasks students are facing after graduation. As the mainstays in physical education of the future, students in the sport institutes are shouldering the burden of cultivating talents of this field for the country, thus the training of the practical ability has been the most important thing for development of individual comprehensive quality.Based on documents and materials, seminars, questionnaire surveys, teaching experiments, mathematical statistics and logical analysis, this thesis aims at the undergraduate students majored in basketball education in sport institutes, and analyzes the current teaching ability of those who have left school for1-4years and started a career as a PE teacher.And the results obtained in this research include:First, the teaching ability of the students majored in basketball education consists of the ability to prepare for basketball teaching, the teaching capability in classroom and the ability of after-school implementation. The ability of preparation includes the ability to design and write teaching materials and the ability to make advance preparation. The teaching capability in classroom includes the ability to give directions to students and interact with them, the ability to control the class and the teaching process, and the ability to use the teaching equipment. The ability of after-school implementation includes the ability to provide extra coaching after class, the ability to make judgments and executions, the ability to summarize and conduct researches after class. Second, deficiencies of different degrees exist in those three aspects mentioned above. The ability to give directions, and the ability to control the class and the teaching process, especially the former one, is weak in general. Teachers are more capable of communicating with students and using the teaching equipments.Third, factors that affect the teaching ability of the student majored in basketball education are multiple. First, schools do not pay enough attention to the training of their ability, and the evaluation and judgment systems are not working well; let alone the shortage of competent teachers and low teaching quality. Secondly, the students fail to master sufficient knowledge and skills, and they cannot fully commit to their work as a result of external influences. Additionally, the standstill in the development of professional skills delays the improvement of ability.Fourth, to improve the teaching competence, various measures, such as giving lectures and conducting discussions, should be taken, principles like combining theory study and practice, making best use of the advantages and bypassing the disadvantages should be insisted.Last, the development program for those students majored in basketball education includes several aspects such as the training objectives, contents, mode and methods, assessment and evaluation. Through empirical analysis, the ability development program in this research design is valid and viable. |
