Because of the uniqueness and particularity of the mental health education, moreautonomy is need to be given to the students, stimulating students’ potential andcreativity. Courses of it mostly raise up their feelings, attitudes and values. Selfsearch-learn Model put much attention to their participating. During this course, theyshould learnt to put themselves into the teachings, search ways of solving mental, inorder to improve themselves.Based on constructivism theory, cognitive learning theory and subjectivityeducation theory, the research analyses the necessity and feasibility of carrying outindependent inquiry learning mode in mental health educational curriculum forcollege students, states the major problems existing on independent inquiry teachingin mental health educational curriculum for college students; adopting the method ofcomparative analysis, the research carries out comparison between traditional rotelearning and independent inquiry learning, comparison between passive learning andindependent learning, comparison between reception learning and inquiry learning,contrast among various kinds of learning modes and comparison of independentinquiry learning between mental health educational curriculum and other subjectcurriculums.Make the objectives and contents of mental health educational curriculum forcollege students clear and construct three sub-mode structures of independent inquirylearning mode in mental health educational curriculum for college students:motivation-inspiration mode, attitude-experience mode and question-inquiry mode;clarify the evaluation ways of independent inquiry learning effect of mental health educational curriculum and propose the application principles of independent inquirylearning mode in mental health educational curriculum for college students. Theresearch can be considered as a model for studying other curriculum learning modes,which will be beneficial to the further development of research work of learningmodes of mental health educational curriculum for college students in China.
