Course offering plays an important role in the graduates’ education of curriculum andinstruction. Cultivation programs and courses offering of curriculum and instruction major inten universities were analyzed, and ten master’s supervisors in two universities wereinterviewed in this thesis. The results show that even though system of the curriculum andinstruction major was relatively mature, some problems still exist, which are listed as follows:Ratio of compulsory courses and elective courses are imbalance; Ratio of common coursesand professional courses are imbalance; Public foreign language were put more attention onthan that of professional foreign language; Inter-discipline and cross-specialty courses areinsufficient; Theoretical courses are much more than practical courses; Course contents areold fashioned and need to be updated; Course contents have difficulties in joining together, the bachelor feature is obvious. Then, the causes of the above problems were analyzed. The reasons mainly lie in twoaspects: one is that the course offering is still restricted by the traditional cultivation mode, and the other is that who has the right to do course offering is centralized. Based on the abovementioned seven problems, we argue the following proposals: Firstly, course structures andcontents of curriculum and instruction major should make adjustments, such as increasing theelective courses in a reasonable way; secondly, reducing certain numbers of common coursesand pay more emphasizes on major foreign languages; Thirdly, increasing the number ofinter-discipline courses; Forth, strengthening practical courses; Fifth, updating contents ofcourses and keep them advanced.
