Universities shoulder the important responsibilities of training talents and benefit the society.University teachers are the most valuable human resources in the University. They are the backboneof the target in realizing the higher education. University teachers`educational idea and workingcondition on the quality of higher education play the role of subtle. SinceThe Fifteenth NCCP of China put forward the concept of "human resources", the universitychanged work into the human resources management. How to construct a professional, efficient,energetic team of teachers, improve the teachers’ work performance has become an importantproblem China’s university human resources management facing to.Work performance is divided into organizational performance and individual performance.Individual performance is a basic element of organizational performance. Improve personalperformance is to improve the organizational performance and realize the goal of premise. Atpresent our country scholars`faculty research on the work performance of the university, which aremostly from the point of view of the managers to research organization levels of performance andstress to the categories of the study of the theory. The research on the country’s university teachers’personal performance is less. The research results only stay in the division of the individualperformance dimension and the statistical data of the level. And specializing in Shanxi universityteachers’ personal work performance study is more rare. This study will be from the teachers’personal performance, using literature analysis, questionnaire survey and statistical analysis methodin the investigation of university teachers`work performance in Shanxi province. This paperanalyzes the differences between the demographic factors of university teachers and personal workperformance, the specific performance in:(1) In the same work environment, men teachers treat scientific research service attitude on a moreactive, performance and more outstanding than women teachers.(2) The older teachers, in teaching effectiveness, scientific research service, interpersonal promotethese three aspects of performance are more outstanding; the work years longer teachers in allaspects of work performance do better than those who have shorter working life.(3)With the master degree of teachers in all aspects of the performance do worse than those whohave bachelor degree and doctoral degree of teachers’(4) The teachers in high title in all aspects of performance are superior to the teachers’ low titles. The author analyzes the cause of the differences, thinks social factors, the professionalcharacteristics and personal accumulation is the main reason for the difference work performance.The author thinks that improve the working performance of the universitiy teachers in ShanxiProvince from two aspects: School administrators cut your coat according to your cloth, provide thedevelopment platform for teachers; teachers should recognize himself correctly to improve the workperformance. In this way, a teacher and university`s performance should obtain a win-win situation.
