Since the1980s,along with market-oriented reform,a large number of farmers began to emerge.Today,the number of migrant workers are still rising,the average age is tend to be younger,especially the "80" new generation are becoming the mainstream of peasant-workers group. With development of market economy,special background in China,difference of the education,and changing growth environment,a more special group in new generation which are all mental workers,have stability and high income,good personal quality,but did not have household register are white-collar migrant workers.They have higher education degree,more apparent urbanization tendency,higher life expectancy and stronger right consciousness.Due to the characteristics,many white collars will generate more psychological discomfort and make different behavioral responses when they face the same or similar social situation as the first generation migrant workers.Therefore,the conditions may make the social identity of the white collar generation of migrant workers tend to "duality" construct,and prevent their re-socialization and social integration process,make them don’t want to or can not return to the countryside,and difficult to into the urban mainstream society.This research mainly adopts questionnaire survey and case studies the method of combining with new white-collar migrant workers in Shenzhen,Guangzhou,and Zhongshan as examples,uses social identity and related theory,through the investigation and analysis on group characteristics,identity,local identity,urban identity,and take a comparative study of white-collar and blue-collar generation of migrant workers,using the subjective perspective to investigate the groups’ social identity status and influencing factors,and extended to the new generation peasant workers’ social identity.Therefore,this study required from their own quality,social and cultural to explore the measures and recommends from social identity construction and social integration for the white-collar generation of migrant workers.
