With the steady progress of social work, social workers provide lots of professional services in the field of serving the disabled. They help those people rebuild self-confidence and go back to the society. As a result, people start to focus on this field, this profession and these social workers. This thesis talks about the social workers who devote themselves to serve people with mental disability. People with mental disability are the vulnerable group of the society; social workers in those agencies receive both acceptation and controversy. At the same time, the society has deep thinking about them. On this occasion, it is conducive to building social worker teams and helping the healthy development of social work if the society pays close attention to this field and the vocational happiness of these people. With interviews of some social workers from those agencies in Xi’an, and understanding their working environments, working contents, self-evaluation and social evaluations, the author finds out the three aspects which influence the vocational happiness of these social workers, including working agency, social support and working motivation. The detail elements contain the agency condition, welfare and remuneration, the working team, family support, social recognition, self-realization and self-requirement, etc. By analyzing the factors that contribute positive and negative to the vocational happiness, the thesis gives four suggestions which mainly to improve the vocational happiness of the social workers. The suggestions include advocating equal views and services on the people with mental disability, completing the policy support, strengthening the organizational measures and improving social workers themselves to increase the vocational happiness.
