Objective1.Methods Synthetically analyzed the risk factors of smoking among the collegestudents by Meta-analysis in China.2.To find out the present situation, level, characteristic and impact factors of smokingamong students of medical colleges in Chongqing. Provide the medical colleges in Chongqingwith the scientific foundation and suggestions about how to control and intervene smoking.Methods1.To Collect the literature in CBM,CNKI,VIP from January2001to January2011on therisk factors of smoking among the college students in China and analysed by Meta-analysis.2.Sampling method:Stratified cluster sampling.3.Questionnaire design: the characteristic of social demography, smoking behavior, theknowledge and the attitudes toward tobacco, and social environment.4.Quality control: Had a pre-questionnaires. Trained investigators.Anonymous questionnaire werebe emphasized when having questionnaires in the class. Instructors and teachers were askd toavoided.5.Data analysis: The chi-square methode and The chi-square segmentation methode.Results1. The frist part of meta got the14literature,15521students, the rate ofsmoking(2.30%~54.30%).The main risk factors of smoking among the college students inChina were gender,the positive smoking attitude, drinking, the smoking situation of theirparents and friends,negative emotions and so on.2.1418students from three classes were chosn for the questionnaires. It means morethan90students were chosen from each grade of each department. There are over12300 students in the school, and1418students were chosen. The rate was11.85%. There was1437questionnaire paper, among which1418paper were effective. The rate was98.67%. The rateof smoking of medical students is12.69%. Among the medical students who smokes,32.59%are boys, and3.51%are girls. There is obvous difference(P<0.01). The rate of experimentingwith smoking is14.95percent, among which27.46percent are boys, and9.18percent aregirls. Through the chi-square test, we got the results: gender(P<0.01), period of experimentedwith smoking(P<0.01), the smoking situation of their parents and friends(P<0.01), attitudestoward smoking(P<0.01), estimation of smoking in the future(P<0.01), drinking(P<0.01),knowledge about smoking (P<0.01) and frequency of getting information(P<0.01). All thesefactors are the risk of smoking and experimenting smoking. Grade(P<0.01) anddepartment(P<0.01) was the risk of smoking, too.3.Through the chi-square test, we got the results about students experimenting withsmoking: gender(P<0.05), native place(P<0.01).4.Through the chi-square test, we got the results about smoking in next3-5years:gender(P<0.01), department(P<0.01).5. On the knowledge about smoking, we got the results: gender(P<0.01),departmen(P<0.01), grade(P<0.01), but little knowledge in difficult point about disadvantageof smoking(P<0.01).6.Reasons for smoking: frinds smoking(43.52%), negative emotions(4.26%),curiousness and experiment(17.59%).Conclusions1.The rate of smoking in this school was at a medium level. It was higher than that inclloeges in east area. The rate of smoking among boys was high. This situation should becontrolled.2.Control of smoking makes for the students of male,fresh,drunking, the smokingsituation of their parents and friends,negative emotions.
