Investigation And Analysis On The Current Situation Of Students' Health Literacy In A Medical University

Background:In 1974,the concept of "Health Literacy"(Health Literacy,HL)was first proposed by Simonds SK,an American scholar.So far,the concept of "Health Literacy"has been constantly improved,and it has gradually received attention.According to the domestic and foreign health literacy survey data,the average level of residents' health literacy needs to be improved.Health literacy of the medical college students should be paid more attention.Aims:This research is mainly to understand the current situation and influencing factors of college students' health literacy in a medical college in Shenyang.In order to explore the health literacy level of the medical college students,effective measures were taken to provide reference.Methods:The first,third and fourth grade students of the medical university in Shenyang(Excluding Pediatrics,Psychiatry,Ophthalmology,Nursing secondary vocational profession)as research objects for investigation and research.The survey distributed a total of 5357 questionnaires,and 4730 valid questionnaires were collected actually.We adopted the"2013 National Resident Health Literacy Survey Questionnaire",and used EpiData 3.1 database management software to establish a database and SPSS20.0 software to analyze data.We used descriptive analysis,variance analysis,chi-square test,Pearson correlation analysis and Logistic regression analysis,and the test level was P<0.05.Results:The overall qualification rate of health literacy was 41.00%,the qualification rate of basic knowledge and philosophy was 62.9%,the healthy lifestyle and behavioral qualification rate was 34.0%,and the qualification rate of health skills was 25.8%.The three dimensions of health literacy are positively correlated;Gender,grade,classification,specialty,place of birth and Urban-rural distribution are the influencing factors of health literacy.Conclusions:The overall level of health literacy of the medical college is relatively high;The influencing factors of health literacy of medical college students are:1)Women's health literacy is higher than that of men;2)Health literacy of higher grades are higher than that of lower grade students;3)Health literacy of medical students is higher than that of non-medical majors;4)Preventive medical professions have higher attainment of health literacy in different professions;5)The health literacy of urban students is higher than that of rural students;6)astern students have higher health literacy than that of midwestrn students.
