BackgroundSubjective well-being is the overall assessment of the quality of life according to personal standard.It has different expression in English:happiness, well-being,subjective well-being (SWB) etc.. Chinese scholars generally translated it as "subjective well-being", or simply "the sense of happiness". Subjective well being of college students reflects the quality of life of campus students, affecting the students’ emotion, cognition and passion of life, and it is an important index to measure the quality of life. The subjective well-being of college students has an important influence on physical and mental health of college students’growth and development.However, in recent years, scholars have carried out less research on the subjective well-being of medical college students. Students of medical university will become a beautiful angel after graduation, shouldering the heavy responsibility of save patients. In recent years the medical college students had many cases of extreme events in the learning life period, such as the student of Anhui Medical University chop down another student suspected by the emotional entanglement in 2012, and Fudan Medical University postgraduates were subjected to poisoning incident by roommates in 2013, to a certain extent, reflect the tension in the spiritual sense and lacking of the happiness of life of contemporary college students of the "ivory tower".University times is in the glorious period of life, and it should be beautiful, brilliant, romantic and passionate. Why "passion" became "excited", "romantic" has become "cruel"? What affects college students sense of happiness? Investigation and analysis on medical college students subjective well-being is of great importance.ObjectiveAn in-depth understanding of the students subjective well-being of Bengbu Medical College and its influence factors. Seek the ways and measures of improving subjective well-being of college students to enhance the students learning and life experience and promote the harmonious campus.Material and methodsUsing overall happiness scale(General Well-Being Schedule, referred to as GWB) refer to USA psychologist Fazio in 1977. According to the study characteristics, we made the self-made questionnaire for this study (attached), conducting in-depth investigation and analysis of the students subjective well-being status and its influencing factors of 650 cases in Bengbu Medical College.The original questionnaire data were input by double parallel using the software of EpiData3.0. Statistical analysis was carried out after finishing into SPSS software 17.0. Quantitative data in accordance with the normal distribution between the two groups were compared with t test. Variance analysis was used to compare among groups. if data does not conform to the normal distribution, using the Mann-Whitney U test. Sex difference between the groups was compared with the χ2 test. Using logistic regression analysis adjusted for confounding factors. a= 0.05.ResultsThere are no significant difference between the college students subjective well-being and national norm. Single factor analysis showed that there were no significant between the subjective well-being in whether male and female, whether one-child, whether the father is higher education, whether the mother is higher education, different level of consumption, different time on internet and different exercise time (all P> 0.05). But there were significant between the students from different districts, different grades, different majors, different reading time, different life expectations and confidence, different interpersonal relationships and different learning employment pressure and self concept of the crowd (both P< 0.05). Lgistic regression analysis showed that different life expectations and confidence, interpersonal relationship, self-concept and different grades may influence the subjective well-being of college students. Employment pressure of study, specialty, served as the student cadre, reading time and where the students from had no significant association on subjective well-being.ConclusionIn order to improve the medical college students subjective well-being, we should focus our work on:1. Strengthen mental health counseling.2. Establish good interpersonal relationship.3. Establish confidence, attention to character creation.4. Rich cultural life and sports of the campus.
