With the rapid development of economy, the research of career development and planning has aroused widespread attention in society. Super’s theory about the choice of career development and mental-physical development stage indicate that high school students should begin to consider their occupations and prepare to apply for college in their later stages of growth and in their exploration of early stage of occupations. High school time is a significant period for high school students’major choices and career preparation. In this study, the survey of high school students about their ego, career exploration, career maturity aim to understand the development status and give career developmental and planning advises for high school students.In order to investigate high school students’ego, career exploration, career maturity development status and the relationship among the above three variables, we adopt questionnaires, including Mental Health-related Self Questionnaire of Adolescent, Career Exploration Questionnaire for Middle School Students (CES) and Career Maturity Questionnaire for Middle School Students. The sample in this study is composed of high school students in Tianjin. The number of this sample is328. We investigate the relationship among high school students’ego, career exploration and career maturity.The results are as follows.(1)High school students show a low career development level.The ego, career exploration and career maturity development of high school students in the dimensions of gender and social practice activities have no difference.(2). The correlation among ego,career exploration and vocational maturity of high school students is significant.(3). The ego and career exploration of high school students can directly predict their career maturity.Conclusion:(1) High school students show a low career development level.There exists no significant difference in gender, among ego, career exploration and vocational maturity, additionally, social practice activities to enhance the level of their career development has no remarkable difference.(2)The relationship between high school students’ ego, career exploration and career maturity are close.(3) Ego and career exploration positively predict career maturity. The higher level of ego and career exploration development of high school students, means the higher career maturity.The results show that high school students’ego, career exploration and career maturity are in a lower-middle level, needing for upgrading and development. The relationship between ego, career exploration and the development of vocational maturity are close, good ego and career exploration can predict career maturity. Therefore, the technical design of career development can improve the level of high school students’career development, and promote their professional maturity and improve its future competitiveness.
