Research On Environmental Ethics Education Of College Students

The research on environmental ethics education of college students is in order toagainst deteriorating global environmental issues and lacking the ethical qualities ofthe students. It is not only the new content of the ideological and political theorycourses in21st century, but also a new initiatives in higher education practicingconcept of sustainable development. Thus it become a burgeoning area in ideologicaland political education.Firstly, this paper examines the relationship between man and nature in history, itmakes a comprehensive analys on the origin of the current environmental issues andthe urgency of the environment improvement. It also has discussed from a high levelon the complex root causes of environmental problems and the essence ofenvironmental issues, which pointed out that the fundamental way to solveenvironmental problems is environmental ethics. And trace the development processof China’s environmental ethics.Secondly, this paper analyzes the concepts、content、features of environmentalethics and environmental ethics education, combing the relationship betweenenvironmental values education, environmental ethics education and environmentaleducation, describing the main elements of environmental values education. Thisarticle attempts to clarify some awareness and understanding on environmental ethicseducation in order to cause concern for the environment ethics education.Thirdly, this paper discusses the necessity and importance of carrying out theethics education to the college students。By analyzing the policies of universityeducation and literature, we finds out the deficiency of our contemporaryenvironmental ethics education. On the other hand，this paper describes the currentstuation and why our education is lagging behind, reflecting the status quo that thebasis of environmental ethics education is weak in university and pay more attentionon theory, the combination of ideological and political theory course is not enough；atlast, the paper points out the insufficient and inadequate attention of schools andstudents on their understanding.Finally, this paper proposes we should integrate environmental ethics educationinto the ideological and political theory to enrich the content and strengthen the goalof teaching. The ideological and political theory course with its solid theoreticalresearch, diversification of education and teaching methods, deep philosophy, ethics,sociology, political science background, consistent curriculum, which can be a basicconditions for carrying out ethical education. The paper also put forward aconstructive long-term mechanism in environmental ethics education to improve theuniversity evaluation system.
