Research On The System Of Career Development Counseling For Students In Advanced Vocational Colleges

Because of the strong vocational requirements, advanced vocational colleges’seducation in the training of students on the job skills closely meet the needs ofenterprises, providing a large number of skilled workers. However, advancedvocational colleges does not create the career development counseling system, causesmany students lack of the awareness of career development planning, this counselingmode only focuses on the skills that exposese many problems gradually. The studentsonly have general skills, ignoring the more important intrinsic links between thecareer choice and the development of life. Along with social progress and thedemand-oriented education which has characteristics of diversity, humanity, fine,sustainability, the colleges can not just be satisfied for helping student find a job, butto help them build their own scientific and rational planning of career development, toachieve comprehensive and sustainable development.In this paper, the research are based on the survey of students and studentmanagement of some advanced vocational colleges, learning from the countries andregions which have advanced experience in the area of career development counseling,and take advantage of the existing resources and superiorities, to build the system ofcareer development counseling. From four aspects of the target system, organizationalsystem, the contents of system, evaluation system to build the system of vocationalcolleges career development counseling, this research wants to change the idea ofcareer development counseling that only provide vocational counseling for graduates,and implement a new idea of counseling which has several steps and emphasisthrough the whole college life, this change are based on the expand of the counselingcontent and period, buliding self-concept, the combination of general counseling andspecial counseling, and the combination of ideological and political education andcareer development counseling. The research tries to set up a system of specializedcareer counseling department, build up a professional career counseling team, developthe curriculum arrangements and evaluation system through the integration of exisingcareer counseling and management resources. Eventually, the research establishs acommunity-based, open system of career development counseling in which collegeplay a major role and parents and the community positivly cooperate with the college.
