Analysis On Employment Situation And Training Strategies Of The Physical Education Majors In Colleges And Universities Of Jilin Province

As higher education keeps the momentum of rapid development, the imbalancebetween the number of graduates and the gloomy job market is upgrading, whichmeans that the graduates who hold physical education degrees from colleges anduniversities will confront a more severe employment environment. The employmentof graduates is not only closely related to social stability and economic growth, butthe happiness of many families and the quality of education in colleges anduniversities. Constrained and influenced by many factors, the employment rate ofphysical education degree holders has been declining, which has led to a tougheremployment environment for them.In this thesis, with the help of questionnaires, literature research, mathematicalstatistics and other scientific research methods, the author studied the recent years’employment situation of graduates majoring in physical education in colleges anduniversities of Jilin province, and reached the conclusion that it was not a positiveresult for the physical education majors in the8universities researched in terms ofemployment situation with a dropping trend year by year. And this thesis, based onthe analysis of the physical education majors in Jilin province, proposes severalstrategies for training and reforming of teaching methods. To develop talents whomeet the needs of society, the author suggests that it is necessary for colleges anduniversities to implement education reform. Therefore, to meet market demand, thecurriculum should be adjusted through the restructuring of the curriculum and coursecontent, and colleges and universities should develop, and utilise the PE curriculumresources by strengthening the compulsory courses, promoting optional courses,advancing practical education which emphasises on the cultivation of comprehensiveabilities. Reform should keep pace with the times to help PE degree holders face thechallenges and seize the current employment opportunities and face the challenges.Career guidance should be based on the current employment situation and socialdemand. And together with sound employment institutions, we should enforce theemployment management system, enhance employment education, and improvestudents’ employability, which will be conducive to form a theoretical and practicalframework for the employment of students majoring in physical education in ourprovince. Colleges and universities majoring physical education should adopt along-term perspective, take the students ’ interests as a starting point and resolve theemployment difficulty from the root.
