On Cultivation Of Civic Awareness For Modern College Students

Civic awareness is a modern consciousness generated with the society development, and which is the foundation of national democratization and legalization and a symbol of modernization. The Party’s seventeenth conference pointed out that we must enhance civic awareness, and for emphasis its basic role of the politicization, legalization, and modernization of democratic in the process of our modernization. As the main force of modernization, the level of college students’civic awareness, affects modernization speed and quality. Therefore, to enhance their civic awareness is a growing concern.Based on the general analysis of nature and content of civic awareness education as a starting point, the report elaborates the necessity of enhance undergraduate’s civic awareness from the view of the social development modernization’s and undergraduates themselves development’s needs. By taken in interpretation the present situation of undergraduate’s civic awareness in the positive and the negative aspects, the author analyzes the causations of negative aspects from historical, economic, culture and their selves factors. On account of those, the author takes the socialist core value system and "human-oriented" scientific development view as the "the Thoughts of Morals and Legal Foundation" teaching in the direction and the destination of the civic awareness education. By combining material contents with foundation teaching and making the platform, to enhance national consciousness, remodel subject consciousness, improve the public value and ethics consciousness, legalization, and politicization participation consciousness, what undergraduate’s civic awareness have been strengthened. Therefore, by the integrating resources, it will be make a contribution to civic awareness education.
