In this study, the emotional intelligence scale (EIS), interpersonal trust scale (ITS) and undergraduate interpersonal trust questionnaire are used to investigate the status of emotional intelligence and interpersonal trust of XiChang College’s344Yi Students’; And then to analyze their mutual relations. These students are from LiangShan Prefecture of Yi autonomous regions. The findings of this study are as follows:(1) In general, the advantage of Yi students’ emotional intelligence is not obviously, and the differences between individuals are large. Among them, the ability of feeling emotion is strong, but the ability of using emotion is weak.(2) In general, Yi students’ emotional intelligence has significant differences in the variables of gender, education, professional, and whether the one-child; However, there are no significant differences in the variables of biogenic ground and whether the class cadre; In the grade variable, the scores of sophomore and junior Yi students are significantly higher than freshmen, but there are no significant differences between the sophomore and junior.(3) In general, the level of Yi students’ interpersonal trust is above the medium level, but the differences between individuals are large. The order of the three dimensions of interpersonal trust is as follows:the quality trust> behavior trust> emotional trust.(4) In general, Yi students’ interpersonal trust has significant differences in the variables of gender, education, professional, biogenic ground whether the one-child and whether the class cadre; In the grade variables, the scores of sophomore and junior Yi students are significantly higher than freshmen, but there are no significant differences between the sophomore and junior.(5) There are highly significant positive correlations between emotional intelligence and the three dimensions of interpersonal trust of Yi students. Except the moral quality factor, each dimension of emotional Intelligence and the other five factors of interpersonal trust have significant positive correlation.(6) Yi students’ emotional intelligence can predict interpersonal trust. Among them, emotional perception and emotional self-management have a positive predictive effect on the quality trust; emotional self-management and emotional perception have a positive predictive effect on the emotional trust; and emotional perception, emotional self-management and the ability of using emotion have a positive predictive effect on the behavior trust.
