Text theory in the west has developed to become a complete theory system. Although China has done many research works related to text theory, and already makes some achievements about it, there are still a lot of blanks to be filled in Senior High School Chinese books, especially in the interpretation of poetry text while teaching. In order to fill the blanks and go further, we must study foreign research results of text theory already existing, and combine it with our practice of teaching in Senior High School Chinese poetry.This paper discusses the text theory and high school modern poetry text interpretation from several aspects as follow:Firstly, introduction. This paper introduces the basic situation mainly from the proposed question, research literature review, the basic thinking, the research methods, future innovation and insufficiency, etc.Secondly, meaning of text theory to the interpretation of high school Chinese modern poetry. High school students can only read or appreciate the poetry, but not interpret them, so that causes a bad effect in the study of poetry. The primary reason is that students have not mastered the right method, so they cannot interpret the poetry independently, cannot obtain the emotional experience, and cannot get the understanding of it. To solve these problems, we introduce text theory as our tutorial to help students interpret the modern poetry.Thirdly, the introduction of text theory."Text" has emerged in the new standard curriculum of Chinese text, proving that the Chinese teaching in our country has started introducing text theory. And we need to learn the new text theory which is based on the new criticism and the interpretation of text. The misconceptions of intention and feeling, and also rule of careful reading, proposed by new criticism, give us many method’s tutorials in the interpretation of high school poetry.Fourthly, analysis method of meaning of word, one of the rules of careful reading. Students can have an entire understanding of the poetry through locking the key words emerging in the poetry text and analyzing them as a key point. Furthermore we have done a case analysis using "Qinyuanchun· Changsha" and "Rain Lane".Fifthly, semantic analysis method of rules of careful reading. Reveal the rich meanings of modern poetry by taking the trait of multiple meanings in modern poetry and doing the semantic analysis which relates to analyzing the structure of sentences and rhetorical methods. And we have studied it using "Dead","To Oak", and other modern poetry as a case analysis.
