The issue of the students with difficulties in English learning is a common phenomenon which widely exists in middle schools, especially in senior middle schools. It hinders the full realization of the goals of English teaching, influences the quality of education, and restricts students’own development, which betrays the basic goal of quality education. Therefore, it is necessary to study the phenomenon and take effective measures to improve the situation.Based on the related research and pedagogic theories both at home and abroad, this thesis aims to investigate the current situation of students with learning difficulties, analyze the reasons why they appear and put forward some effective strategies on how to help students with learning difficulties rebuild their confidence and make progress in their English learning. In addition, the thesis will also provide English teachers with some useful suggestions on how to transform the students with learning difficulties in the process of English teaching.This thesis is made up of five chapters. In chapter one, the author describes the reasons for the research and then the necessity and significance of the study; in chapter two, the author reviews the related studies both at home and abroad; in chapter three, the author makes a survey and analyses the causes for the emergence of the students with difficulties in English learning; the author puts forward some countermeasures on how to prevent the emergence of the students with learning difficulties and transform the existing ones; and the last chapter is a brief conclusion of the whole thesis..
