Game-based learning has become a modern information-based teaching, research focus, and has made certain findings, such as the release of the game-learning websites and so on. However, these sites with a lot of games for learning is designed for learners to master or understand the learning content and do not really in a targeted manner consider this game in the end have developed what kind of thinking skills of learners, while in general terms only come to the conclusion that they have developed the learners'ability to learn. Critical thinking is seen as an integral component of learning, as one of the two basic skills for thinking as problem-solving skills, is essential for learners to study to develop the high-level thinking skills, so to enhance the students'critical thinking has also become one of the key objectives of school education. Therefore, to study the game-based learning tool designed to promote the development of learners'critical thinking ability, in particular, to study its design methods, has important theoretical significance and practical application value.According to the research objectives and research contents, this paper use mainly literature analysis, case analysis methods and object-oriented software design methods, the research work are around the following four fronts.(1) Research base of the game-based learning tool. Starting from the elements of critical thinking and the core competence, the paper describes the theoretical basis and technical basis and then with the integration of the theories, finds the basis for learning tools and pave the way for the following instructional design framework.(2) The construction of instructional design framework for game-based learning tool. Under the guidance of the method of problem-based instructional design, the method of "study"-based instructional design and the method of games-based instructional design, with the premise of the design objectives and principles for the game-based learning tool, put forward a instructional design framework for the learning tool.(3) The practice modeling of the game-based learning tool. Use the object-oriented software design methods to analyze the objectives and principles of the design of learning tool. After a series of processes, including needs analysis, general design, detailed design and practice design of learning tool make the practice model.(4) The development of application examples. Make application examples from the theoretical model of learning tool and practical examples of learning tool, concretely realize how the game-based learning tools to promote the development of critical thinking of learners. Based on the system design methods, software design methods, modular thinking, this paper develop instances on the Flex development platform and the Action Script language.After a series of studies, papers obtained the following results.(1) Come to the instructional design framework for the game-based learning tools. Start from the learning theory, instructional design theory, software design theory and the combination of these theories, the design of the instructional design framework should include learning goals analysis, learner analysis, problem solving environment design and the solving of problems, and so on.(2) Come to the software design model of game-based learning tools. Starting from the object-oriented software design and combining with instructional design framework for the learning tools that have been raised, build the general practice model of learning tools.Then divide the system into modules and detail the practice design of the various elements ,which enriches the practice model of learning tools and paves the way for the tool development.(3) Development of application examples. Applying the theoretical models and software models, design instances examples to verify the feasibility of the model.In this study, paper combine the learner's critical thinking ability development and educational games, games-learning, design and develop a learning tool. In the design stage of the game-based learning tool, adding a textual description of works module and learning evaluation module, learners can develop their own writing ability to express ideas, while the tool can provide evaluation basis so that students can get timely feedback to timely modify their own learning methods to achieve better learning results.Due to the limit of technology, the development for the module of the learning tools is not in place, so the future research work will focus on the further improvement of the function of each module of the learning tools.
