Current Situation Survey And Strategy Analysis On Basketball-centered Secondary Schools In Heilongjiang Province

Basketball-centered secondary schools in Heilongjiang province aim to cultivatereserved talents among teenagers, to increase their interests, to improve their health and toteach their techniques and to cultivate and find basketball reserved talents. Their cultivatingpattern is to train the student athletes at their leisure time which will not affect their regularstudies. They are able to teach these athletes’ literacy lessons as well as improve theirbasketball skill. Through training, they can also attract other students in the sports, create agood environment of physical training and promote the well-rounded developments of theseathletes, which play an essential role in cultivating reserved talents in basketball in China.The main methods used in the paper are documentation method, expert investigation,questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics, etc. The statistics that the author used toanalyze were from a questionnaire survey and several interviews to some coaches andathletes in basketball-centered secondary schools in Heilongjiang province. According tothese statistics, the author analyzed the main factors which restrain the development anddiscussed the sustainable development strategies. The research showed:1. These schools are widely distributed in Heilongjiang Province, mostly inwell-developed cities while the administration system is not mature and the monitoring andassessment systems need to improve;2.The coaches are mainly from sports schools whichshow a tendency of being younger in average age but most of them have their part time jobs;3. The number of male athletes exceeds the female and few of them have sports grades. Mostof them are not good at their studies and lowering the score is their major way of entering ahigher school, which causes the contradiction between training and studies;4.The athletesresource are mainly from their own cities which result in a lack of number;5. Although thetraining numbers and times are qualified for the assessment requirements, there are still somedefects such as the training plans are comprehensive, the training plans are shortsighted andthe athletes’ injuries are neglected6. Few schools have opportunities to participate innation-wide competitions and schools are the only sources providing training expense. Thefacilities for training are in good condition and can mainly satisfy the training need.
