In a new round of curriculum reform in basic education, the standardof English course is clear and definite to make a development forintegrated language capability of pupils. That means, besides thetraditional teaching of listening, reading and writing, the teaching ofspoken English formally becomes an important part in our English course.As the beginning and basic of English teaching in our country, the effectof learning spoken English in primary school is closely connected withlater higher-level studies. But now, the current situation of teachingspoken English in primary school is not optimistic. Some pupils’ studyof spoken English is directly impacted by inefficiency. For this reason,how to make an effective teaching design about spoken English, and finallyhow to achieve this goal, are the questions that all the English teachersin primary school must be concerned. Considering the importance ofteaching spoken English in primary school and the fact that lacking inresearch of effective teaching at the present day, the author will tryto make a research on effective teaching design of spoken English inprimary school. At last, the research shows that the effective teachingdesign can help pupils learn spoken English effectively and also improvetheir learning interesting, enthusiasm. The thesis has six parts.In chapter one, also the exordium, the author primarily analyzes somequestions existing in spoken English in primary school nowadays.According to some literature both here and abroad, the author puts forwardthe feasibility and necessity of research on effective teaching designof spoken English in primary school.In chapter two, according to some data analysis, some related conceptsand the characteristic of English in primary school, the author determinesthe specific concept of spoken English, effective and teaching design, and points out that five hypotheses of Stephen Krashen, multipleintelligence theory and the theory of constructivism are the maintheoretical basis of this thesis.In chapter three, the author makes an investigation and analysis ofcurrent situation about teaching design of spoken English in primaryschool. Based on the analysis of questionnaire data from30on-the-jobEnglish teachers with the same area, the author sums up and concludes sixexisting issues of teaching design of spoken English in primary school,namely the formalization of teaching design, the content of teaching goalmissing or unknown, lacking of analysis of learning sentiment, teachingactivities inefficient or invalid, scene creation failed to producesubstantial effect, evaluation of spoken English in simplification.In chapter four, according to above-mentioned issues, the author putsforward four principles of teaching design of spoken English in primaryschool, namely the principle of a thorough analysis about the teachingobject, the principle of comprehensive and specific design of teachinggoal, the principle of a targeted and flexible design of teaching strategy,the principle of objective teaching evaluation in diversity. At the sametime, the author uses the typical case to analyze the practicalapplication of four principles.In chapter five, the author establish a plan to implement theeffective teaching design, at the same time, also analyzes the data fromcollecting to make a summary. Finally come to the conclusion:Effectiveteaching design can improve the students’ spoken English learningquality,at the same time it can promote the sustainable development ofstudents’ spoken English learning. Finally, the author of this studyundertook reflection, analysis of the shortage of the research on, andputs forward some suggestions to improve the teaching of the future.
