People and the environment can not be divided, that is to say, environment educates people. Up to2007, the project of boarding schools in the Western China has been accomplished. With the decrease of the number of schools, the limited funds play an important role in this stage of compulsory education. A large number of idle resources had been fully utilized. The school size and efficiency in school management have been improved. What is more, the quality of education has been enhanced. These are very conducive to the holistic development of students. However, how to raise the level of campus cultural environment and provide a "new home" for teachers and students after the boarding schools’adjustment is very important for teachers and students’physical and mental health. In addition, the prominent "people-oriented" environment culture plays a decisive role in the development of rural boarding schools. Taking the opportunity of the tutor’s project, the author studies the campus environment culture construction in boarding schools at the compulsory education stage in Minle County, Zhangye City in Gansu Province.Based on the previous theory and literature review, the connotation of campus environment culture and its function and considering the current situation and problems in the campus culture construction in rural primary and middle schools, this paper carries on studies on the basis of the present situation and suggestions and problems of campus environment culture construction in rural boarding schools.Under the background of the present condition and education development in Minle County, we analyse the present situation of campus environment culture construction in boarding schools in Minle County. According to the actual investigation and data analysis, the paper intends to present the current situation and the development tendency of the campus cultural construction in boarding schools in Minle County. After visiting the four schools and interviewing with their principals, together with the data analysis of the questionnaires from both teachers and students, we can see the experience and progress of campus cultural environment construction in Minle County and find some major problems in campus cultural environment construction in boarding schools: Firstly, The education building facilities on campus are relatively old-fashioned; Secondly, the campus living facilities construction can’t coordinate in time. Thirdly, the campus construction is lack of variety and color; Fourthly, there are too much propaganda and golden sayings on campus, which are too far away from students’study and life. Fifthly, the implementation effects of campus environmental system are deficient.We analyze the reasons of problems occurring during the cultural construction on the basis of advice from principals and teachers and students in the sample school. As a result, this study puts forward some advice for strengthening the campus cultural environment construction in rural boarding schools as follows:Firstly, we should strengthen the personalized management concept, creating a "people-oriented" environment cultural atmosphere; Secondly, it is essential to create a "beautiful campus". Thirdly, the government should increase the financial investment in the rural boarding schools for campus cultural environment construction.Fourthly, it is necessary to improve the theoretical level and the campus cultural environment construction concept of the principals; Fifthly, it is indispensable to further strengthen the improvement, perfection and enforcement of the corresponding regulations in campus cultural environment construction in boarding schools.
