Environmental education is a fundamental solution to the human society environmental problems,its purpose is through teach the students about environment and development foundation of knowledge and skills,to arouse their awareness of the environment,to cultivate the sense of responsibility and morality of sustainable development values and protect environment, thus to participate in the action to improve the environment and solve the realistic environment problem in the activity by the beneficial environment behavior mode,to make contribution for environmental, economic and social harmonious development.As a close contact science with environmental education,biology curriculum in junior high schools involves large amount of information about the environment education content and system,has a positive role in promoting the students’environmental literacy and comprehensive quality of training.In order to find an effective suitable way of carry out the environmental education in middle school under the present educational system,this research take "environmental education" as the breakthrough point,using biology which related closely linked to environment education to research.The research adopts the method of literature,questionnaire survey,interview,investigate a large number of junior high school teachers and students in the rural areas of Gansu province,aims to obtain the first hand data of local biological teachers’ and students’environmental literacy,environmental awareness,education status,as well as environmental education in biological teaching,so that to analys the existing problems,put forward to carry out the suggestion and countermeasure,which is fitted the local school.Through statistical analys of the data,the study found that the development of environmental education is influenced by3aspects:society, schools and teachers.Schools and biology teachers in teaching can infiltrate the environment education,but there are also some problems performanced in:The presence of school environmental education situation is not optimistic;Teachers’literacy of environmental education is gradually decreasing;Teachers’ capacity of environment education could be improved. Specific performance in the follows: l.The society schools lack attention of environmental education;2.Schools lack the corresponding hardware and technical support;3.Infiltration intensity of environment education is not enough;4.Teachers’environmental education literacy shows the regressive tendency year after year;5.Teachers lack of sufficient analysis and understanding to the students;6.Teachers can not enough to grasp the content of environmental education;7. The teaching is not good to link the students real life;8.The infiltration methods of environment education is not reasonable provided.This research put forward the concrete countermeasures and suggestions from social, school,and teacher three levels,as follows:1.Increase the rural area environmental publicity and education efforts;2.Provide the corresponding hardware and technical support to the schools;3.Construct the suitable campus culture of environment education environment;4.Give teachers a fully free space environment education space;5.Give the teacher in-service training;6.Enhance teachers’accomplishment of environmental education;7.Use and develop the resources on the basis of grasping the contents;8.Contact life actual, organize practical activities;9.Optimize the teaching structure,arrange the method reasonable.
