This study is committed to explore social work intervention about hospice to elderly persons who have no families. Case study, Observational survey and deep interview are used for collecting and analyzing research data. By analyzing the primary and secondary literature from within and across the border, the study specifies hospice’s service object as elderly persons who have no families, and discuss the issue of hospice from the perspective of social workers.Taking the project of Hubei Cining Services Section of the Social Workers Across Borders Ltd as an example, the elderly persons who have no families will have different emotional problems before death. Numerous factors such as anxiety to disease, fear of death, discomfort of unfamiliar environment, concerns to funeral, all have negative effects on their self-efficacy. Guided by the case system ecological theory, this study will explore social work intervention points and intervention strategies in accordance with the basic situation of the persons who have no families. The author selects a group case in social work intervention which is named for "Rhapsody", and then describes and analyses the entire group work, and eventually assesses the effect of group work for the elderly persons who have no families.As foreign institutions, the subject of service and service philosophy of the Social Workers Across Borders Ltd is worthy of praise. Many problems will be revealed in the process in the project localization in Chinese mainland. The internal and external environments both restrict its development and make the process slow. In the end of this study, by analyzing the situation and the dilemma of the project, as well as the plight of social workers’roles and the future development strategies of this agency, conclusions aiming to fight for resources and to promote its hospice services for persons who have no families will be drawn.
