Postgraduate education is the highest stage of a national higher education. It is an important part of cultivating innovative talents. Quality is the core of higher education, the quality of postgraduate education is the key of the development of postgraduate education. The thesis tries to introduce and analyze external assurance policy of postgraduate education quality between Britain and China, compare to the policy for China to learn from the experience of the Britain policy experiences, and how to better assure the quality of postgraduate education. Learning from the Britain postgraduate quality assurance policies, to reposition and adjust the quality of postgraduate education in China external assurance policies, to ensure the quality of postgraduate and to meet the social needs of different types of talent.This thesis from the four parts of analysis the postgraduate education quality assurance policy:The first part introduced the Britain external quality assurance policy of postgraduate, which consist of qualification, scientific research quality and teaching quality assurance policy. This part examines policy texts and policy development, reflecting the objective, fair and open protection of the quality of postgraduate education.The second part introduced the Chinese external quality assurance policy involved qualification, scientific research quality and teaching quality assurance policy. This part reflects China pay attention to postgraduate education quality and the development of the policy.The third part is to comparison the external assurance policy of postgraduate quality between Britain and China, examines its experiences and disadvantages.The fourth part is mainly based on the similarities and differences of external quality assurance policy of postgraduate between two countries, proposed to draw on some inspirations for China.
