The effectiveness of English language teaching in the classroom depends largely onthe interpersonal situation. It’s required that the English teachers should create a newteaching method and optimize it to really implement the new curriculum philosophy. It hasbeen proved that the most respected is the cooperative team learning. As a high schoolEnglish teacher,the author understands the meaning of the essence of cooperativelearning, desires to carry out the cooperative English team learning activities,explore themethod of cooperative learning,and strive to achieve the expected effect.First, by means of libraries and electronic resources,the author is collecting,collating,summarizing and comparing the collected document from home and abroad tomaster the situation of English cooperative team learning, accumulate morecomprehensive research information and finally find the right research-based starting pointof reference and basis for study. Then combining our own practice, we try to establishcooperative leaning groups in the classroom, give the students much training aboutcooperative learning and set up an evaluation system to motivate the students’ interest inawareness of competition. Finally, we make an attempt to carry out the cooperativelearning activities in Maling Middle School, and regularly we will concentrates on theinvestigation of the status of cooperative learning in Maling High school, analyses theresults and works out the solutions to the problems.The research techniques adopted in the paper includes: action research, documentreview, questionnaires and interviews. Action Research is the basis of the researchmethods, which observes the specific circumstances, characteristics and deficiencies ofEnglish cooperative team learning for further examination and correction of the program.Through the research, not only can the paper help promote high school Englishteaching, deepen reform, and improve the efficiency, but it also can play the role ofthe booster in Maling high school teaching reform.
