As the main body of valuable human resources and national future economicdevelopment, whether or not the university students have the strong sense of socialresponsibility and the consciousness of historical mission, which will pose the vitalsignificance to the economic growth of the country, the setting-up of harmonious societyand also to the great renaissance of the whole county. In recent years, with thefundamental changes in political, economical and cultural structure, more parties havetheir own interest, which may bring the unprecedented impacts on the concept ofcontemporary university students. Therefore, how to correctly guide the universitystudents to set up the right value concept and cultivate their social responsibility, andmake them realize the responsibility and fulfill it, is becoming a significant topic that thecollege ideological and political education faces.The thesis is composed of three parts. First of all,the author explores into theconnotation and some related concept of responsibility and university students’ sense ofsocial responsibility, put forwards the contents of university students’ socialresponsibility and then presents its theological bases and further clarifies the necessity ofcultivating college students’ social responsibility.The second part mainly discusses the positive performance of university students’social responsibility and the current situation of some university students’ weakawareness of social responsibility, and then analyzes the reason of their lacking socialresponsibility.The Final part proposes the countermeasures of cultivating college students’ socialresponsibility in the following four aspects: reinforcing the education of universitystudents’ social responsibility, strengthening their social practice and self-education andoptimizing educational environment.
